Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Download Final Fantasy Tactics A2 Grimoire of the Rift Rom – A strategic way to have fun
Final Fantasy Tactics first arrived in 1998 and introduced a whole new level of role-playing and strategy. After having a spin-off in the Game Boy Advance, Final Fanatsy Tactics came to Nintendo DS as Grimoire of the Rift, a sequel to the Game Boy Advance edition. If you have ever played a Final Fantasy Tactics title before, you know it is full of adventure, magic, and tactical battles. In Grimoire of the Rift, this is just what you get.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2 Emulator Games
- Grimoire of the Rift still has an epic storyline like its predecessors. You are intertwined with destiny that you cannot escape, and you need to venture out in Ivalice, Chronologically set after Final Fantasy XII.
- A difference in this title is that unlike its predecessors that follow a linear storyline, Grimoire of the Rift requires you to choose the missions yourself making your paths different although there are certain missions you have to complete to progress through the story.
- The battles are still on a 3D isometric platform and you need to advance towards your enemy, your movement limited to the type of character, abilities, and items. This is the feature that gained Final Fantasy all its fans and made it popular. Countless strategies could be conjured to attain victory, using the units, resources, and items you have.
- Same as before, there are a number of “jobs” you can set for your units giving them different abilities, giving you more depth in strategy as to which unit to use. But in Grimoire of the Rift, mastering jobs is a little different. You master jobs by equipping job-specific items and winning battles with them. Example, if you want to gain experience as a knight, you equip a knight sword and win a battle with it.
Just like before, Final Fantasy Tactics once again delivers a top-quality strategy game. With an epic storyline, customizable characters, and endless possibilities in strategy, Grimoire of the Rift has the recipe of an amazing game.

People smarter than me~
I can't seem to get Final Fantasy Tactics to run well in any emulator. I've only tried four or five, so maybe I haven't found the right one. I'm currently trying to get ePSXe to run it, but as of yet, only humble success.
The Problem
The game boots with fairly normal framerates. As soon as it's past the 'squaresoft' screen, when it tries to load the intro movie, i get rainbow static garbage, with framerates that jump all over the place. The sound starts at this point, and it's stuttery. The movie ends, sound still stuttery. Select 'new game' and the sound becomes smooth, but it speeds up and slows down a lot .
Helpful - FYI
I'm running an Athlon 800 MHz, 256 MB Ram, GeForce 2, Sound Blaster Live!, and Yamaha 56x CD-Rom.
I've Tried . . .
The only emulator I've made a concerted effort to make work is ePSXe, b/c of the overwhelming # of people who think it's the best. In ePSXe, I've tried:
- Video
Pete's OpenGL (recommended by ePSXe for my vid card)
Pete's Dx6
Each of these with many diferrent settings. ALWAYS get the same results.
- Sound
Pete's DSound
Null2's SPU
ePSXe SPU core
a few option-settings each. again, nothing helped.
- CD-Rom
ePSXe core
Pete's CDR ASPI
the only valid options
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have plenty of HD space left, and would like to make an ISO of FFT, but I am ignorant of such matters and don't know how.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Infinite Loot[edit]
Want infinite loot but don't want to take the time to fight a billion quests? If you're late in the game, you can get all the loot you want in a single battle with the right circumstances. Enter any battle (preferably a random battle, as the laws tend to be a little less constraining), and be sure to have Vaan and any Seeq Ranger in your party. For best results, you'll want to add a Time Mage, as well as any class that is good at holding enemies in place, such as an Animist with Sheep Count or a Juggler with Ring Toss.
Although it's not strictly necessary, you may want to fight the battle as usual until you get to one enemy remaining. This is just for simplicity, and to keep battlefield control. Keep the enemy busy but don't kil him; use Stop, Sleep, and so forth to keep him out of harm's way. Then, have your Ranger make any kind of trap near Vaan, and have Vaan use the Salvage ability. Salvage, you see, disarms the trap an gives you a random piece of high level loot as a result. The Ranger can make unlimited traps for free, and Vaan can use his Salvage ability for free as many times as he wants too. With a Time Mage giving Haste to both guys, you could sit there and farm loot quickly all day! Just be sure to save afterwards!
Vaan and Penelo[edit]
In order to recruit Vaan and Penelo to your party (both from Final Fantasy XII), try the following. Before going on a quest titled The Ritual, head to Flougis. An event bubble should appear. Thereafter, another will pop up. Head to both. If done properly, Vaan and Penelo will thereafter be unlocked for use in your party.
Experience Boost[edit]
Before each battle, you’ll get to choose with advantage you want to give your crew (so long as you don’t break the judge’s rules for that battle). You should always, always choose an experience boost over any other statistical advantage. You’ll rarely (if ever) run into a battle where you should be challenged to the point that you’ll need a mild speed or strength boost, for instance, but experience is always a hot commodity that should be gathered when and where you can. Giving yourself an experience boost during each battle will let your characters level up quicker, and ultimately this will lead to an even stronger party that will never need statistical advantages in battle. Continue to repeat this process and you’ll be working with a really strong crew before long.

Libra[edit]
There’s a special skill known as Libra, which has a different use in this game than most other Final Fantasy titles it appears in (it reveals traps on the field of battle as opposed to the statistics of a targeted enemy). To acquire it, start up FFTA2 with a copy of the original Final Fantasy Tactics Advance in the GBA port on your DS.

Another thing that makes Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift stand out from other titles is it's sheer length. As I said before, the gameplay is made up of quests, and you won't encounter any part of the game that really deviates from the quest structure. But the good news is there are 300 individual quests, and with each one clocking in from about half an hour to almost two hours (depending on difficulty and battle style), if you go for 100% completion, you will be playing this game for quite a while. While you could feasibly stick to the story quests and be done with this game in twenty hours, one of the real joys of this title is playing to completion, a feat which will probably provide you with at least fifty hours of gameplay.
Visuals in this title maintain Square Enix's high standards when it comes to handheld graphics, especially on the DS. Environments and characters come to life in bright colors with a reasonable amount of detail. One thing I did miss from the graphics in this title that was very appealing in last year's Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings and this year's Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates was the amazing opening cutscene. Both of these titles had an extremely detailed and superbly animated CG movie. However, considering the length of this title in comparison to the former two, it is understandable that due to space constraints on the DS cart, such an amazing cutscene might have been cut out of necessity rather than style or oversight.

Sound in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is very impressive, and fans of the Ivalice Alliance will at once recall new arrangements of some of their favorite tunes. The music is a very tasteful implementation of 'fan service' and, as a longtime fan, I really appreciated that they didn't go overboard trying to appease everyone who ever played a Final Fantasy Tactics or Ivalice Alliance title.
But music isn't the only thing fans will recognize in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Several characters from Final Fantasy XII will make cameo appearances and a handful, including Vaan and Penelo, will actually be playable. Diehard Ivalice fans will also recognize several locations that are a familiar nod to other Ivalice-set games.
We Are The Minutemen Mod.The thinking behind supporting the Minutemen in Fallout 4 is that having more connected settlements will result in a safer, more prosperous Commonwealth. Star Wars Faction Overhaul Mods Synth Stormtroopers / Imperial Institute.Separatist Patrols Of The Commonwealth.Rather than giving you whole new factions, these two Star Wars-themed overhauls change existing characters to place the Commonwealth in a galaxy far, far away. The first one modifies the Institute characters heavily, so synths and Institute scientists wear different varieties of storm trooper armor or various Imperial robes from the movie series. It even includes a bunch of extras from various other faction mods so you can tweak non-canon characters.Be careful when playing with those settings, though, as it can be easy to accidentally nerf the whole game or shut down entire quest lines when changing states on various characters, and there is a learning curve involved here. Fallout 4 better raiders. If you go hostile inside the Institute headquarters, get ready for a tense laser blaster battle (and yeah, they have better aim than in the flicks). The second mod goes back to the much-maligned Phantom Menace to create hordes of Trade Federation droids that patrol around the Commonwealth at random spawns and replace many of the Institute synths as well.
Overall, I don't think I could have been more pleased with Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. It is a solid title that will please both fans of the Ivalice Alliance as well as those who enjoyed the original Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. It is a great crossover title and has appeal both as an Ivalice adventure and as a full-throttle tactics title. While it may not have the pungent story Ivalice fans have come to expect or the extreme tactics Final Fantasy Tactics fans might have wanted, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift stands on its own as a great blend of these two sub-series and is one of the most lengthy and rewarding tactical RPGs to date. It is definitely a must-buy for fans of Final Fantasy or tactical gameplay, and even regular RPG fans will find some real enjoyment out of this one.

Music is easily one of the best features of the game. Fans of the Ivalice Alliance will definitely recognize some of the melodies in the game, which is a great nod to longtime fans of the series.

This game is both immersive and long. With an almost limitless amount of non-linear quests, you could easily log fifty hours or more, which is quite impressive considering the title's handheld nature.
